Ultrawide Computer Monitor: Panel timing controller fault | Auckland
Pattern to record: Half-screen, fixed lines or washed colours remain over the monitor's own menu.
Separate the panel from the source
Use the panel’s native resolution and supported input timings when comparing sources. A wide image can exceed a cable or adapter’s capability even when a lower-resolution desktop appears stable. The circuit distributing pixel timing is unstable or unpowered; this particular explanation requires a compatible LCD panel design and does not establish a fault in an OLED model.
Display-path checks
- Verify native timing, input bandwidth and panel behaviour with the on-screen menu.
- Compare internal menu behaviour and measure local panel supplies.
Handling and electrical safety
A large curved or ultrawide panel must be supported evenly when handled. Panel ribbons are fragile and should not be handled live.
Image and input verification
If the checks support this cause, repair the T-CON supply or replace the confirmed panel-level assembly. Verification should cover native resolution, multiple inputs, brightness uniformity, sleep and extended use.
For an assessment of your ultrawide monitor, contact AEPC in Burswood or call 027 908 8880. Provide the model and the conditions that reproduce this problem. Workshop visits are by appointment.
